Major renovations are continuing at the new home for Life Church at 19 John Davenport Drive, the former DJ’s Tavern. The church is moving from their current home at 3006 Martha Berry Highway as that location makes way for a new RaceTrac convenience store.

Church members have done most of the demo work themselves in their “Take Back the Tavern” campaign. In a recent letter to church members, Executive Pastor Josh Perry says that “99% of the demo work is done, but there is still much work to do involving walls, plumbing and HVAC work.”

“We had hoped to have groundwork for the new building complete by now, but have run into some delays due to the abundance of rain as well as permitting issues that have arisen due to federal regulations that have recently changed. The contractors have now begun and this work should be completed soon,” he says.

The church hopes to move into the new space later this summer.
