Euharlee Elementary and Woodland Middle schools were placed on code yellow today, which means that all the exterior doors were locked and all outside activity was suspended, due to a criminal incident nearby. Extra campus police officers were on campus, as well. The Bartow County Schools Campus Safety Police Chief Dan Knowles was at the scene of the crime and was in constant contact with Euharlee Police throughout the day. Due to the information obtained by Chief Knowles, the decision was made to remain on code yellow.
From Woodland Middle School near the shooting scene earlier this afternoon:
Due to an incident in the Euharlee area, our campus was used as a Life Flight location today. Our building is/was secure and students are here being held in class so that class changes wont interrupt any procedures by the Life Flight and other medical staff.
