Benjamin Scott Anderson, Jan. 15, 1988-March 2, 2015

Mr. Benjamin Scott Anderson, age 27, of Rome passed away at a local hospital Monday, March 2, 2015.

Mr. Anderson was born in Rome, GA on January 15, 1988 son of Terrie Gowens Walls and David Anderson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Ann Anderson. Benjamin was a long haul truck driver traveling mainly out west. He enjoyed sports, especially Georgia Bulldogs Football. Benjamin was also an avid hunter, fisherman and patriot. He enjoyed life to its fullest never meeting a stranger and making friends where ever he went.

Survivors include his mother, Terrie Walls and her husband, his father, Mike, Rome; dad, David Anderson, Calhoun; siblings, Jennifer and Joshua Walls, Rome; grandparents, Kenneth and Sue Gowens, Brenda Boord, and Mildred Walls, all of Rome; God-parents, Tim and Susan Conway, Rome; aunts, Melinda Lively, Lisa McKinney, and Lisa Allen, all of Rome; uncles, John Anderson and Jerry Walls both of Rome; several cousins and close friends also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Anderson will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 2:00pm in the North Rome Church of God, with the Rev. Terry Addis and Rev. Ken Hinkley officiating. Interment will follow in Howells Crossroads Cemetery, Centre, AL .

The family will receive friends at North Rome Church of God, on Friday, March 6, 2015 from Noon until the service hour. At other hours they may be contacted at their respective residences.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at North Rome Church of God, on Friday at 1:30pm and include: Jerry Walls, Danny Mulkey, Tim Conway, Johnny Anderson, LaDon Lively, Travis Lemming, Matthew Ackley and Zack Birdsong.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mr. Larry Joe Ferguson, age 67, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, in a local hospital. Funeral services are incomplete.

Mr. John Mercus “Greasy” Groves, Jr., age 87, of Rome, passed away Wednesday morning, March 4, 2015, at his residence. Services pending.

Mr. Winford Clark Hicks, age 89, of Rome passed away Sunday March 1, 2015, at his residence. Services today.

Ora McAbee, age 96 of Rome, passed away on March 4, 2015. Services Saturday.

Ms. Gennie Smith of 200 Watters St. passed on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at her residence surrounded by family. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
