CAPTURED: Escaped work detail inmate arrested in Atlanta
Friday evening from Floyd County Police: “Inmate Garrett Shields has been arrested in Atlanta by fugitive officers.”

Original report from Floyd County Police: Be on the look out for an escapee from a work detail on Sproull Road near Trimble Way off Kingston Highway. Garrett Terrell Shields, 44, a black male standing 5 feet 8 inches and weighing 198 pounds, was wearing a white shirt and pants with one blue stripe on pants and blue collar on shirt along with an orange sweatshirt and orange tobaggon. His last known address was in Fulton County. He is on year two of a 20-year sentence for several violent felonies. Shields was last seen about 3:30 p.m. near that intersection. If anyone is seen matching this description do not approach but contact 911.
