    At 730 p.m., 36 Georgia Power were without power in southern Bartow County. Sustained winds of 12 mph and gusts to 17 mph are being reported at the airport this evening. UPDATED: Carter’s Lake to do a “reduced release” of water this weekend, but with Sunday’s expected rain, renew flood concerns for Floyd, Gordon counties.

Still coping with the floods left by the left February storms (more than 10 inches of rain fell), Floyd County and Gordon County might see more of the same. Rainfall: After more than eight inches of rain last week, we’ve added two more inches since Thursday with probably that much more expected Sunday ahead of a cold front. Rainfall since midnight: About two thirds of an inch so far today at the airport in Rome with perhaps up to a half-inch more expected throughout the morning.
