Locally: The Floyd County Republican Party staged a watching party at Brewhouse Music & Grill Tuesday night. More than 25 attended and a straw poll was conducted. Chair Layla Shipman — a guest on Wednesday’s Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA 98.7 FM — says the results were as follows:

• Rubio 9 (he won the last straw poll following an earlier debate).
• Cruz 7
• Trump 5 (zero last time)
• Undecided 3
• Rand, Carson 1 vote each.
