The following is a look at any school systems planning delayed starts or closing because of the potential of black ice on area roads overnight. Remember, this is a list of local schools. What’s key is the note that follows each name. That’s the school status for Friday. Please check with any medical office on Friday before leaving for an appointment. - Floyd County Schools: Already scheduled to be off Friday and Monday. “No school for children tomorrow. Also, no school on Monday. Friday is a teacher planning day. Monday is a school holiday for students and teachers.”

- Gordon County Schools: Due to reports of hazardous road conditions and inclement weather in areas of our county, Gordon County Schools will operate on a two hour delay today, March 6, 2015.
- Chattooga County Schools: There will be a two hour delay in the morning, Friday March 6, due to the possibility of black ice. Busses will run two hours later than normal.
