Sheriff: 15-year-old faces charges as adult following armed robbery in Kingston

Media release: On Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 5:54 a.m, Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Five Forks Grocery at 10 Lowery Road in Kingston in reference to an armed robbery. According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, the clerk told deputies a white male subject wearing an orange Nike sweatshirt, sun glasses and a gray bandanna covering his face entered the store carrying a handgun, pointed the weapon at her and requested two cartons of Marlboro Special Blend Black Menthol and two cartons of Marlboro Light 100s. The clerk was able to activate the store’s panic alarm and provided the male subject with the cartons of cigarettes. The male subject left the store without further incident on foot and the clerk was not injured. Sheriff’s investigators have charged a juvenile, 15, as adult with armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm in this incident. The juvenile was detained and transported to the Rome Youth Detention Center where he is awaiting a hearing in a Bartow County Superior Court.
