James Donald Espy, November 17, 1938-March 7, 2015

Mr. James Donald Espy, age 76, of Floyd County went to be with Lord and Savior Saturday March 7, 2015 at his home in Armuchee.

Mr. Espy was born November 17, 1938, in Floyd County a son of the late Nettie Carden Espy, and Emmett Espy. He was a member of local 766 Pipefitters Union for 35 years and a member of local 72 for 18 years. He loved fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Taylor Espy, three sons, Donald Eugene Espy, Kenneth Gerome Espy, and James Corey Espy, eight grandchildren, Matthew Espy, Rusty Espy, Jordan Espy, Dillan Espy, Ashley Womack, Chase Brooklyn Cox, Mary Bishop, Holley Strawn, 10 great grandchildren, three sisters, Willene (Victor) Minutole, Fl; Geneva (Eddie) Teague, Summerville; Shirley (Bob) Nadeau, Rome; three brothers, William (Frances) Espy, Rome; Wayne (Edith) Espy, Calhoun; Mike (Pat) Espy, Fl; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday March 11, 2015 at Armuchee Church of God, with Rev. Charles Ezell officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of the service on Wednesday at Armuchee Church of God.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the church by 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, Matthew Espy, Rusty Espy, Jordan Espy, Dillan Espy, Darrell McKennoe, Darryl Crumley, Randy Taylor and Dewayne Taylor.
