Harry Allen, Sept. 7, 1933-March 2, 2015
Mr. Harry Allen, age 81, of Silver Creek, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015, at a local healthcare facility.
Mr. Allen was born on September 7, 1933, in Burke County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Louise Wilson Didrick and Joseph Didrick, Sr., by a sister, and by three brothers. Mr. Allen was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean War. Prior to retirement, he worked in the maintenance department at the Rome Housing Authority. He was of the Holiness faith and was a member of the American Legion Post #5.
Survivors include his wife, the former Susan Tillery, to whom he was married on May 12, 1990; two daughters, Teresa Allen, Adairsville, and Tracy Allen, Rome; a son, Jeffrey Allen, Silver Creek; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Allen, Snellville, and Richard Didrick and his wife, Melba, Rome; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 2:30pm at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Gary Diggs will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from 1 until 2pm. At other hours, they will be at their respective residences.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday at 1:30pm and include: Brandt Dales, Devon Quarles, Jamie Minor, and Kenneth Tillery.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.

Gayolyn Ann Neal, age 62, of Cave Spring, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, at her residence in Cave Spring, Ga. Funeral services are incomplete.
Miss Gladys Charmaine Townley, age 80, of Rome, passed peacefully into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 2, 2015, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Services Saturday.
