Carolyn Ann Naiser, Dec. 22, 1935-Feb. 27, 2015

Carolyn Ann Ewing Naiser, 79, of Rome, passed away Friday morning, February 27, 2015, at her residence.
Mrs. Naiser was born in Athens, Ohio, on December 22, 1935, daughter of the late Robert Orville Ewing and Julia Elizabeth Stanley Ewing. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Fred J. Naiser, and newborn daughter, Cynthia Louise Naiser.

Carolyn Naiser ObituaryMrs. Naiser graduated from Hamel Business College with a degree in secretarial administration. She was later employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as a member of the secretarial pool. There she met and later married her lifelong partner and husband, Fred J. Naiser.

After raising their four children, Carolyn Naiser was employed by the Book Rack for 14 years. Mrs. Naiser was a member of St. Mary’s Church. She has been a member of the Adult Choir for 30-plus years, a charter member of the Adult Handbell Choir until 2013 and St. Mary’s coordinator for Meals on Wheels for 11-plus years.

She is survived by daughter Becky Self (Lydell) of Rome, son Robert Naiser (Cheri Whoric) of Whitesburg, GA, daughter Valerie A Goehring (Pat Green) of Indian Harbor Beach, FL, and son David Naiser (Melissa) of Cartersville, GA. Grandchildren are Cheryl Self, Eric Self, Brandon Self, Cindy Schoultz, Davey Godwin, Ashley Naiser, Amber Naiser, and great-grandchildren Cameron and Carter. Her surviving sisters are Betty Lou South of Sun City West, AZ; Barbara Gahr of Apopka, FL; and Eleanor Lansell of Parma Heights, OH.

A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Kingery and Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating. A Rosary will be said at 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.

A reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall of the church. Interment will follow at a later date in St. Mary’s Memorial Garden. The family received friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2015, from 5 until 7 p.m.

Mr. William Harlan Carrington, USAF (Ret.) age 77 of County Road 44, Cedar Bluff, Ala.,died Sunday afternoon, March 1, 2015 at his residence following an extended illness. Services to be announced.

Morris M. Casey, age 86, of Rome passed away Sunday morning in a local hospital. Services Wednesday.

Mr. Winfred Clark Hicks, age 89, of Rome, passed away Sunday March 1, 2015, at his residence. Services Thursday.

Mr. James Edmond “Jimmy” Moore, age 74, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at his residence. Services to be announced.

Mrs. Christine G. Russell, age 97, of Chateau Drive, formerly of N. 5th Avenue, Rome, passed away Sunday evening, February 28, 2015, in a local nursing home facility. Services Friday.
