Howell Lamar Nails, May 6, 1951-March 4, 2015
Mr. Howell Lamar Nails, age 63, of Silver Creek, passed away at a local hospital on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.
Mr. Nails was born in Aragon, GA on May 6, 1951, son of the late Roscoe and Ruth May Womack Nails. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy Connelly and Peggy Nails, and by a grandson, Dustin Nails. Mr. Nails was a member of the Silver Creek Church of God and owner/operator of Howell’s Tree Service. He was a simple man who enjoyed his large family and numerous friends to the fullest. We will miss his wisdom and presence, however he will forever live in our hearts.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Vinyard Nails, Silver Creek; three children, Bobby Nails and his wife, Bethany, Silver Creek, Henry Nails and his wife, Ashley, Rome, and Angela Lipsey and her husband, Zachary, Cedar Bluff, AL; three step-children, Corey Higginbotham, Silver Creek, Brandi Jones, Silver Creek, and Amber Willis and her husband, Matthew, Shannon; seven siblings, Jerry Nails, Cedartown, Frances Pope, Aragon, Margie Kiser, Felton, Joe Nails and his wife, Teresa, Cedartown, Kathy Nails, Rome, Danny Nails and his wife, Kim, Rome, and Charles Nails and his wife, Stephanie, Rome; 23 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Nails will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 3:00pm at the North Rome Church of God with the Rev. Elgin Williams, the Rev. Terry Addis and Mr. Rick Jacobs officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rome Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday, March 7, 2015, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the North Rome Church of God on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 2:30pm and include: Timmy Connelly, Benny Pope, Jody Nails, Eric Kiser, Chris Nails, Shane Nails, Josh Nails, and Steve Connelly.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Joan Farr Ware, age 80, of Rome, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday.
