Graves, Loudermilk vote to ban federal funds for abortions, abortion insurance
Rep
. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) released the following statement after voting in favor of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2015 (H.R. 7), which prohibits taxpayer funded abortions: “This legislation is especially meaningful to me because my days working to protect and promote innocent life go back many years. From the time that my wife Julie was the president and founder of the Gordon County chapter of Georgia Right to Life to my first floor speech in the Georgia General Assembly. And I’m proud to say that nothing has changed. My vote for this legislation is a vote to protect unborn lives, and the conscience of millions of people around the country who, like me, believe every unborn baby has the right to life.” H.R. 7 passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 242 to 179.
U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) has issued the following statement on the passage of H.R. 7 - the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2015. “Today, I proudly supported the passage of H.R. 7 - the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2015.” This legislation would effectively undo one of the most controversial provisions of Obamacare, which provides coverage for elective abortions through cost-sharing subsidies and federal tax credits. As one of the millions of Americans who oppose abortion outright, I certainly do not believe taxpayers should be forced to fund the taking of innocent lives.”
