Updated: Floyd Police investigating bizarre accident involving man’s death

From Floyd County Police on bizarre investigation into man’s death tonight: “Original call was of a possible auto accident. Responders saw injuries were not consistent with a motor vehicle accident. We are not releasing method of injury yet,” according to Maj. Mark Wallace. Developing story.

From WRGA: Floyd County Police were called to Drummond Drive, in reference to a vehicle that had crashed into a mobile home, and found the driver with injuries not consistent with a wreck.

According to Major Mark Wallace with the Floyd County Police Department, the call came in at around 7 p.m.

He said they were not releasing the exact nature of the injuries, but did confirm the man was transported to Floyd Medical Center, where he died.

No one else was injured. Major Wallace added more information will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

Drummond Drive is located off of Wilkerson Road, which is off Mount Alto Road.
