The situation: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 2 AM to 9 AM Sunday morning for the northeast Georgia mountains (our area is not in the advisory). A mix of light rain and light snow will begin shortly after midnight, then become all snow late tonight. Accumulations of 1/2 to 1 inch are possible with higher amounts possible in the higher elevations. Some areas on roads and especially bridges could become slick late tonight and early Sunday morning. Outside of the advisory area and across the rest of north Georgia, a mix of light rain and light snow will develop around midnight and continue into the early morning hours on Sunday. Temperatures will remain above freezing and little or no accumulation is expected. If there is accumulation, it should be confined to grassy areas.

If you have any weather delays or cancellations to report, please email [email protected].
