The City of Cartersville Planning and Development office has signed off on the initial site plans for the ‘Main Street Marketplace’ development, a Ledbetter Properties project that is scheduled to be home to a massive Kroger Marketplace.

“Construction can start any day now,” says Randy Mannino, Planning and Development director for Cartersville. “We approved plans for Phase 1 of the project that will include the anchor tenant Kroger with about five or six out lots in front of the building including a Kroger gas station.”

Mannino says plans include a 115,000-square-foot Kroger. Project details include 53 acres with proposed commercial square footage of 231,013.

Wright Ledbetter with Ledbetter Properties says they are not ready to make an official announcement on the project, but will have more details within the next few weeks.

The current Kroger at 51 Morningside Dr. in Cartersville would close once the new store is open. More background in our previous report.
