The Polk County community is mourning the loss of a beloved community leader this evening. Polk County Commission Chairman Billy Croker passed away earlier this afternoon after suffering a heart attack earlier in the week according to WGAA Radio. Croker had also served as Chairman of the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission as well as held numerous regional and state governmental agency positions.
Fellow Polk County Commissioner Jennifer Hulsey posted this on Facebook: “On behalf of the Croker family Billy Croker passed away to be with his Lord around 2pm today. He went peacefully on his own and in God’s time. Announcements will be forthcoming please pray for the family.”
