Thomas Vincent Culp, 54, died Thursday, June 15, 2017, after complications resulting from a pre-existing heart condition.

He leaves his four children: Jessica White, Zachary Culp, Taylor Holder, and Morgan Culp whom he was immensely proud of and who loved him tremendously; two grandchildren: Samuel and William White, who lovingly called him PawPaw; his father James Culp, brother Tim Culp, and grandmother Bernice Culp.

Tom was born December 21, 1962 in Alliance, Ohio. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1981. During this time he was a member of the Alliance High School wrestling team, placing 3rd in the state finals. He also participated in Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Eagle. Upon completion of high school, Tom attended and graduated from The Ohio State University in 1985 with a degree in Turf Management. In 1990, he moved his family to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where he managed the grounds of several golf courses and quickly developed a love for the game. In 2001, an opportunity became available with Bouckaert Farms, and Tom, along with his family, finally settled down in Rome, Georgia. Seeking a career change, Tom soon found he had a love and penchant for the car business. He made many close friends throughout the years while selling cars, and was blessed with fantastic and entertaining stories of the lesser seen side of the business.

In December 2016 his mother, Janet Culp, passed away. Tom was never able to fully finish grieving for her before he too was no longer of this world. His children, and those close to him, find comfort in the loss of someone so hardworking, loving, and hilariously inappropriate with the knowledge that he can finally find comfort once again, alongside his mother.

The evening of their father’s passing his children gathered at the family home. Not soon after, they were greeted by a strong wind heading South East towards the Atlantic coast and a quick but powerful downpour of rain giving them one last comforting sign of the strong love and devotion their father had for them. It also seemed to signify the relief and freedom he now has with the ability to escape the problems of this world and finally have a chance to relax on the beach and bask in the waters that he loved and called his Mother.

Anyone wishing to stop by and pay their respects to this much loved and much missed man is welcomed by his family. A reception will be held at Daniel’s Funeral Home in Rome, Georgia on Thursday, June 22 from 6-8 p.m.
