Rome City Commission meets at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. There will be public hearings for three rezoning requests as well as recognition of years of service for City employees. Agenda

Calhoun City Council: The Mayor and Council meet at 7:00 p.m. at the Depot Community Room, 109 South King Street. Agenda

Rome Braves Hot Stove: Atlanta Braves President of Baseball Operations John Hart has been added to the list of special guests for the 2016 Hot Stove Gathering at The Forum in downtown Rome on Monday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Expanded release

NAMI Rome’s Annual Meeting is Monday, Jan. 25, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Rome First United Methodist Church (Wilder Center), 202 E. Third Ave. Agenda: Review 2015 accomplishments and preview 2016 hopes and dreams. Refreshments will be served.

Tuesday

More free breakfast from CFA: The Rome Dwarf House and other participating Atlanta area Chick-fil-A restaurants will offer a free sausage biscuit from 6:30 am to 10:30 am.

Floyd County Commission meets at 6 p.m. with caucus at 5 p.m. Meetings at Floyd County Administration building on 4th Ave. Agenda not yet available.

The Rome TEA Party will host its monthly Lunch Bunch meeting Tuesday, Jan. 26 at Fuddruckers, 595 Riverside Parkway, from noon until 1 p.m. Come early to order from the menu. Attendees will debate and develop the calendar of events for 2016, proposing speakers and programs for over 20 TEA Party Events. The first straw poll of 2016 will be conducted. Thursday

The Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce’s 105th Annual Meeting is Thursday, Jan. 28, from 6-8:30 p.m. at Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Aviation Training Center, 127 Capitoline Drive NE, Rome. Floyd County Schools: Financial Aid Night - Georgia Student Finance Commission and Wells Fargo will be presenting information to assist students in planning for college expenses and applying for financial aid. This meeting will be held at the Floyd County Board of Education in the Board Room at 6 p.m.

Friday-Saturday

Rome Little Theatre’s production of “The Secret Garden” opens Jan. 29 and runs through Feb. 7. The musical is one that flows strongly with hauntingly beautiful themes of finding life and meaning after a heavy loss. Based on the enchanting literary classic, the musical is re-imagined in a bold and brilliant style. Hours: 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; 2:30 p.m. Sundays. DeSoto Theatre, Broad Street.
