Latest from Floyd EMA Director Tim Herrington: Currently we can expect the rain to continue most of the day today changing over to snow sometime after 6pm. The temperatures will fall below freezing sometime after midnight with the snow diminishing around daybreak. There is a possibility of icy road conditions affecting bridges, overpasses, and commuter traffic during the early morning hours as temperature rise above freezing early Saturday afternoon.   • Rome airport: 39 degrees, with 33 degree wind chill
  • Cartersville airport: 37 degrees with 30 degree wind chill

  • At least another 0.25 of an inch of rain this afternoon.
  • Up to one-inch of snow between 11 tonight and 11 a.m. Saturday.
  • Temperatures staying above 32 degrees now through 12 a.m. Saturday

Tonight: Rain before 10pm, then rain and snow showers between 10pm and 11pm, then snow showers after 11pm. Low around 30. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
