Here’s what is going across Northwest Georgia:

ROME

Upcoming guests at Rome Rotary (noon Thursday, Coosa Country Club) include:
  • Thursday: Charles Love, founder and co-chairman of the North Rome Community Action Committee.
  • Jan. 28: Mike Dunn, general manager of the Rome Braves, as preparations continue for the team’s 14th year at State Mutual Stadium.

FLOYD COUNTY

The Floyd County Board of Education has a regularly scheduled work session this Thursday, Jan. 21, at 4 p.m. in the superintendent’s office.

BARTOW COUNTY

Georgia DOT Maintenance crews continue today through Friday to replace the obliterated and damaged reflective raised pavement markers on State Route (SR) 61 in Bartow County. Work will proceed through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and will force pacing traffic on this highway. This maintenance operation and the lane closures it necessitate are weather permitting and subject to change.

CALHOUN

The above photo depicts the roundabout to be constructed as part of phase one. This is the intersection of Peters Street and East May Street.
