Monday

Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday: All federal, state and local government offices closed. Schools closed. Local financial institutions closed. All Floyd County remote garbage sites closed.

Tuesday

The Gordon County Board of Commissioners meets at 6:00 p.m. in the first floor conference room at the Gordon County Administration Building, 201 Wall Street, in Calhoun. Agenda

Calhoun City Schools: The Calhoun City Schools’ Board of Education will hold their regular monthly meeting at 6:00 p.m. at Calhoun High School, 355 South River Street, Calhoun. A work session will be held on the same scheduled meeting day and location at noon. Agenda

Thursday

The Floyd County Honor Band will perform at Armuchee High School both Thursday, Jan. 21 and Friday, Jan. 22. There will be a performance for both the middle school group and the high school group beginning at 7:30 p.m. each night in the auditorium.

Cartersville City Council meets at 7 p.m. with work session at 6 p.m. Meets in Council Chamber on 3rd floor of Cartersville City Hall. Agenda

The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting will be at 6 p.m. in Georgia Northwestern Technical College’s Gordon County Campus conference center. The cost is $50 per person and corporate sponsorships are available.

Friday

Hampton Inn at Emerson slated to open: The next big opening at the sprawling LakePoint campus will be the 86-room Hampton Inn, the latest hotel adjoining the campus of LakePoint Sporting Community and Town Center. The hotel is at 86 Old Allatoona Rd SE just beyond Chick-fil-A, which opened a year ago next month. Hotel amenities include: A free hot breakfast each morning or On the Run Breakfast Bags, available Monday through Friday. Outdoor fire pits on the patio with lake views. Heated indoor pool. Fitness Center.
