Hardman T. Alford, May 16, 1933 - January 15, 2016. Services are incomplete. Daniel’s Funeral Home.

Mary Virginia Duncan, age 97, of Rome, passed away on Jan. 15, 2016. Virginia went to Rome High School and attended Carroll Lynn Business School after high school. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Farrill Duncan, Sr.; son, Thomas Farrill “Tommy” Duncan, Jr.; grandsons, Tim Green and Randy Duncan. Mrs. Duncan and her husband owned Duncan Furniture for about 50 years. She was the oldest member of North Broad Baptist Church. She loved working and spending time with her family. Mrs. Duncan is survived by her two daughters, Patty Duncan Green and Sue Ellen (Lee) Duncan Hampton; five grandchildren, Terry (Dot) Green, Todd Green, Tanya Dodd, Stacy (Andy) Akin, Steve (Terri) Duncan and several great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at Fred Talley’s Parkview Chapel Funeral Home from Noon until 1:00 pm. The funeral will be 1:00 pm, Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 at the funeral home with a private burial.

Mrs. Kathryn Inez Ergle Hollingsworth, 63, of Rome passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at her residence. Born October 3, 1952 in Thomasville, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Alvie Ergle and the late Alva Fredrickson Ergle. She was a graduate of the Georgia School for the Deaf. For most of her life she was a homemaker for her husband and children. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Robert Hollingsworth Jr.; her children and their spouses, Bobby and Leigh Hollingsworth, Kristina Hollingsworth; her grandchildren, Jacob, Hayden and Hensleigh Hollingsworth; her sister, Anne Tatum; and her brothers and sister-in-law, Fred and Pam Ergle and Karl Ergle; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Oaknoll Chapel with the Reverend Rodger Whorton officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 12p.m.-2p.m. An interpreter for the hearing impaired will be provided. Miller and Richards Oaknoll Chapel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lula B. Rosser, age 90, of Cave Spring, passed away on Friday evening, January 15, 2016 at her residence with her daughters at her side. Mrs. Rosser was born in Cherokee County, Alabama, on July 2, 1925, daughter of the late, Marion Lafayette Highfield and the late, Mary Elizabeth Smith Highfield. She was of the Baptist Faith and for the past 30 years she was a homemaker. She loved her flowers, birds, and her friends. She left a legacy of love that was shared by her family and friends. She was a member of the Bold and Beautiful Red Hatters of Cedartown. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lindsey Franklin Rosser and by a son, John Roy Rosser, by a grandson, Joel Patterson and by 3 brothers, and 1 sister. Survivors include 4 daughters, Barbara Ann Wood and her husband, Wendell of Tallapoosa, Joan Patterson and her husband, Tommy , Waco, Sandra Kerr and her husband, Ferrell, Cave Spring, and Frances Freeman and her husband Greg of Cape Coral, FL; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016, at 2pm in the Chapel of Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with her son-in-law, Elder Tommy Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Rehoboth cemetery.The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 until 8pm at the Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel and at other hours they may be contacted at the residence.
