Audio: Listen to our interview with state Rep. Trey Kelley on changes to the state Revenue Department

State Rep. Trey Kelley, R-Cedartown, joined us Monday on Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA 98.7 FM to discuss what’s next for the ad hoc committee he chairs as the panel studies reforms to the state Department of Revenue. The committee was appointed following the surprise announcement last year that Rome and Floyd governments had to repay several million dollars to the state — plus interest — because a Floyd-based company had messed up its tax payments starting in 2005. The interest rate charged the city and county: 12 percent.

Rome City Commissioner Evie McNiece, a member of the Georgia Municipal Association, will discuss reform efforts at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday on Hometown Radio.
