Obituaries: Remembering Edward Franklin Redden Jr.
Edward Franklin Redden Jr., age 67, of Cedartown passed away Monday, January 4, 2016 in a Rome hospital.
A native of Rome, Mr. Redden was born May 21, 1948 son of the late Elsie Louise Grant Redden and Edward Franklin Redden, Sr. He loved to fish and travel, enjoyed racing and being with his family. Mr. Redden was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy McCullough Redden of Cedartown; children April Ballenger of Rome, Melissa Williams of Taylorsville, Tammy Adams of Lindale, and Jason Pope of Rome; brother Danny Redden of Cedartown and sisters Susie Hudgins of Rome and Elsie Minter of Cedartown. Twelve grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday, January 8, 2016 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Jeff Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with the Honor Guard of Shanklin Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion providing Military Honors. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jeffrey, Heath, and Walker Williams,Logan and Bradley Grace, and Zack Gribble.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12 PM until 2PM and at other hours will be at the residence 133 Montana Drive in Cedartown.
