Media release: The CRBI Polar Bear Paddle set for this Saturday, Jan. 9, has been postponed to Saturday, Jan. 16, because of impacts of recent floods in Rome. You can register for this trip at CRBI’s website http://www.coosa.org/events/paddle-trips. We hope we will see you on a chilly Etowah Jan. 16. Sorry for the change but the rivers are still up and the boat ramps not so usable. Unfortunately, even if water levels drop, clean up of the ramps is not expected before Saturday morning. Mud wrestling will be held at the boat ramps instead…not really. See you on Jan. 16.
Kaylee Sartorato, a guest on Thursday morning’s Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA 98.7 FM, said a delay was being considered because of the floods and resulting issues from the high water.
