Chlorine leak reported at Southeastern Mills: “All Clear” from Rome Fire Battalion Chief.
A chlorine leak evacuated Southeastern Mills plant on East First Avenue late Friday evening according to Rome-Floyd Fire Battalion Chief Roger Haggard.
“A small chlorine leak was reported on the fourth floor of the plant. Three works were exposed and treated on the scene by Floyd EMS. The refused further treatment at the hospital,” he says.
The plant’s maintenance crew was able to shut off the chlorine. Haggard says there were no other leaks found and crews are working to repair the leak. Employees have been allowed back into the plant as of 9:45 p.m. Friday.
