Floyd County Public Works Director Michael Skeen said it best: “For the first time in nearly two weeks, I can report that all roads in Floyd County are open.”

That announcement, just after 4:15 p.m., came a day after the county had two problem areas left to contend with:

  • Thomas Bluff Road (high water)
  • Flowery Branch Road (closed along the gravel portion while the county works on the road bed).

The county will continue to work on a permanent fix for parts of damaged Everett Springs Road.

Skeen will join us at 8:40 a.m. Thursday on Hometown Headlines Radio Edition on WRGA 98.7 FM to discuss what public works — and the community — have dealt with since the Christmas Floods. Listen online at wrga.streamon.fm
