Express — a “fashion retailer that caters mainly to young women and men” and is based in Columbus, Ohio — is leaving Mount Berry Mall in early February, according to Coles Hull Doyle, marketing director for mall owner Hull Property Group of Augusta.

“We don’t believe it is a reflection of the mall or the community but instead is the natural cycle of retail. Stores come and go, and some tenants succeed where others don’t depending on the goods offered and the shoppers’ needs and tastes,” says Doyle. “However, we are confident there will be other retailers who will be interested in the space.”

Mount Berry has been successful in recent years in attracting upscale fashion retailers including Buckle and Sienna & Bellini, and welcomed back Spencer Gifts.

Joining the food court area in a few months will be premium pretzel maker Auntie Anne’s, Doyle says.
