The situation:
As we watch a few more swollen rivers and creeks slowly drop, we’re doing the same with the thermometer. Our morning low so far is 34 degrees and the wind chill at 10 a.m. was 25 thanks to 20-mph sustained winds. Our high today will be 42 but with the 10-15 mph winds and gusts to 20 mph, look for wind chills in the mid to upper 30s all day. We had one gust overnight up to 31 mph.
The forecast:
Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 24. North wind 5 to 10 mph.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 45. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming east in the afternoon.
Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25. East wind around 5 mph.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 48. East wind around 5 mph.
Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.
Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54.

Flood warnings in Northwest Georgia

The Oostanaula River near Calhoun.

* At 315 AM Monday the stage was 22 feet.and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring.and minor flooding is expected to
continue.
* Flood stage is 21 feet.
* The river will continue falling.
* Between 21 and 22 feet.Minor flooding occurs in the
woodlands.fields and pastures upstream and downstream from the
gage behind the water treatment plant off Mauldin Road. The boat
ramp and portions of a small parking lot on the upstream and
right bank side of the Georgia Highway 136 Connector will be
under water.
The Armuchee Creek near Armuchee.
* Until this afternoon.
* At 245 AM Monday the stage was 19.8 feet.and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring.and Minor flooding is forecast to
continue.
* Flood stage is 19 feet.
* The creek will continue to fall.dropping below flood stage by
late this morning.
* At 19 feet.Minor flooding occurs in the woodlands.fields and
pastures along the creek upstream and downstream from the gage
on Old Dalton Road.
The Coosa River near Rome Mayo Bar Lock and Dam.
* Until further notice.
* At 315 AM Monday the stage was 25.7 feet.and falling.
* Minor flooding is occurring.and minor flooding is expected to
continue.
* Flood stage is 24 feet.
* Between 24 and 26 feet.Minor occurs in the woodlands.fields
and pastures along the river upstream and downstream from the
gage on the old Lock and Dam behind the Trading Post. The boat
ramp will be mostly under water at Lock and Dam park and
portions of the parking lot may be flooded.
The Coosa River near Plant Hammond.
* Until further notice.
* At 700 AM Monday the stage was 575.5 feet.and
falling.
* Moderate flooding is occurring.
* Flood stage is 570.0 feet.
