Suspect in auto break-ins near Wingfoot Park faces 10 charges

Media release: The Cartersville Police Department announces arrest(s) made in connection with entering autos, which occurred overnight on Dec. 13-14 in the Wingfoot Park Subdivision. Investigators have arrested Phillip Anthony Carter Jr. in connection with multiple entering autos/thefts that occurred overnight in the Wingfoot Park Subdivision. Carter was found to be possession of stolen property at the time of his arrest, police said.

Carter was charged with:

  • Prowling
  • Entering auto (7 counts)
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • Probation Violation (Cobb County)
  • Additional charges are pending.

Carter remains in custody at the Bartow County Jail with a probation hold. It should be noted that every vehicle entered during this crime spree was unlocked at the time of these thefts. The Cartersville Police Department would again ask that members of the community lock their vehicles. We would also ask that you refrain from leaving firearms and other valuables in your vehicles overnight.
