Bids are being sought and so are applications for Harbor Freight Tools, coming into what appears to be the former Ferguson location at 2112 Shorter Ave. A help wanted ad on the company’s website seeks a “retail manager” under the “accepting applications” area for Georgia stores. Founded in 1977, Harbor Freight Tools prides itself as providing “working people with quality tools at ridiculously low prices.”
The company averages around 30 employees per store, according to a 2012 article.
According to bid solicitations, look for extensive remodeling work to be done before the store opens. Bids are due early next month.
Based in Calabasas, Calif., the company has more than 450 stores in 46 states including Georgia locations in Athens, Augusta, Douglasville, Dunwoody, Fayetteville, Kennesaw, Lilburn, Macon, Savannah and Valdosta.
