OUTLOOK

What we see: Probably an inch of rain between today and Saturday evening. Keep an eye on graduation schedules and arrangements (we’ll have updates).

Today: Scattered thunderstorms can be expected across the area, most so during the afternoon and early evening hours. A few storms could be strong with the main hazards being gusty winds, occasional lightning and locally heavy rainfall. Areas receiving persistent heavy rainfall could experience localized flooding, especially along creeks and streams, as well as low-lying, urban and poor drainage areas.

Weekend: Scattered to numerous thunderstorms can be expected across the area into next Wednesday. On any given day, a few storms could be strong with the main hazards being gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall. The greatest chances for thunderstorms will occur during the afternoon and evening hours. FORECAST

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Patchy dense fog before 9am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Sunday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
