Business: SMC Music moves to Central Plaza May 29. Three job fairs on the way: Chamber’s manufacturing career fair today plus two in Cartersville next week.

Signs of the times: Well, actually, the sign for SMC Music is gone from Etowah Crossing shopping center — but not the business. SMC remains at 122 Hicks Drive through (hours 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday). The company moves to Central Plaza (top photo) and will be open for business there effective Tuesday, May 29.


More employers due today: The Rome Floyd Chamber’s Manufacturing Job Fair  is et for Tuesday from 2-7 p.m. at Georgia Northwestern Technical College, Building H Rooms H101-A,B & C, 1 Maurice Culberson Drive, Rome. Among those taking part: Advanced Steel Technologies, F&P Georgia, Georgia Pacific, Marglen, Mohawk, Neaton, Pireli, Profile Custom Extrusions, Steel King, Suhner, Tyson, WMP Crates.


The Georgia Department of Labor will help LG Hausys fill positions for their manufacturing facility in Adairsville.  The event will be held May 21 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Cartersville Career Center, 19 Felton Place. Interviews will be conducted onsite for the following positions:

  • Quality patrol team members
  • Lab technician – technical
  • Mould processor
  • SCM manager
  • Filter press operator
  • Maintenance technician – electrical
  • Maintenance technician
  • Maintenance engineer
