More than 650 people packed the Museum of Flight’s hangar at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport/Towers Field Saturday night to celebrate “A Night to Remember: An Adult Prom.” Designed to benefit the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, it raised more than $40,000. Funds will be presented to the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to end Alzheimer’s in October and will also help fund some other dementia-related needs for our community.

The eight-member Prom Court competitively fund-raised for the cause, including Tannika Wester, Erin Hight, Mindy Hubenthal, Jeanie Paige McWhorter, Ghee Wilson, Rob Byars, Bryan Mullins and Bryan Johnson (bios can be foundĀ here).
Wester was named Prom Queen, having raised more than $18,000. TheĀ Prom King was Ghee Wilson, who raised more than $5,000.
This is the fourth year for the event and it’s unique in that it is completely volunteer run. This year also was the largest year ever in terms of event sponsors.
