Rainfall:

  • Close to four tenths of an inch at the airport in Armuchee…. the same at the ag center off Bells Ferry.
  • Less than two tenths of an inch in Cartersville.
  • Calhoun saw nearly three quarters of an inch of rain.

Winds:

  • 27-plus mph reported at the ag station around 5:45 p.m.
  • 26 mph in Cartersville.
  • 18 mph in Calhoun was the top gust.

Outages

Power out to more than 325 customers near Rockmart at 7:50 p.m. Thursday. A few other smaller outages are being reported across Northwest Georgia as well, according to Georgia Power. Outage map

North Georgia EMC reports 79 customers in the dark west of Calhoun and one in Foyd County.

 

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division has issued a Code Orange (Unhealthy for sensitive groups) Air Quality Alert for Atlanta for Friday, May 11. Under Code Orange conditions, the outdoor air quality is likely to be unhealthy for some people. Children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are highest.
