From Adairsville Police: “Our police chief, Mike Jones, had an opportunity to visit with a wonderful person, Jonathan Meyer, and his family at the hospital Wednesday and was excited to gain a new friend. Jonathan has a long journey ahead of him in his recovery efforts. Chief Jones visited with the family and friends that were gathered. This is a close-knit family and Jonathan is a wonderful man who unfortunately did everything right on the morning of the incident.
Jonathan was on his way back home to Florida after attending a wedding in Tennessee. Jonathan became tired while driving and being the responsible person that he is, he decided not to risk getting in an accident and hurting himself or some innocent motorist and pulled over to take a nap and rest his eyes. He pulled into a very “safe,” well-lit gas station to take a nap like any one of us have probably done before. Unknown to him was that he was parked beside three individuals who were about to change his life forever.
Jonathan comes from a good family that obviously cares for him and has raised him to be an outstanding young man. Please continue to keep Jonathan and his family in your thoughts and prayers as Jonathan has a long road to recovery ahead of him. Please pray that Jonathan will continue to improve and gain more mobility and feeling each day that passes until he is up and walking again.”
