Crews are wasting no time in the expansion of the Aldi grocery on Turner McCall next to Steak ‘n Shake in Rome. A few workers were on site Saturday as the extension began to take shape. By Sunday, the store itself was closed with multiple crews on site Monday.  Opened in August 2014 on the site where the Village Theatres once stood, Aldi will have approximately 18,817 square feet with five aisles and 11,404 square feet of sales floor space when the $2.5 million expansion is done. The projected reopening time: Late June. Aldi also has stores in Calhoun and Cartersville.
