Miss Joy Maureen Gibson, 81, of Cave Spring, died Sunday afternoon, April 8, 2018, in a Rome hospital following a brief illness.

Miss Gibson was born in Houston, Texas, October 5, 1936, a daughter of the late Maurice Bryant Gibson, and the late Gladys Fern Gibson. Miss Gibson was a graduate of the Texas School for the Deaf and also of Gallaudet University, and was associated with Georgia School for the Deaf from the fall of 1963 as the Liberian until her retirement in the spring of 1995. She was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.

Besides her parents, Miss Gibson was preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Marie Byrd, and by her brother, Mickey Gibson.

Miss Gibson is survived by her son, Jason Gibson of Cave Spring.

Memorial services for Miss Gibson will be held Thursday evening, April 19, at 7:00 P.M. at the Oak Hill Church of Christ with Minister Michael Farris and Elder Ron Vick officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 P.M. until the service hour.

Mr. William Gary Gray, age 52 of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Mr. Gray was born on June 9, 1965, to Daniel Hill Gray and Wadene Gray Floyd. He was a member of Plainville Unity Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by a stepsister, Sandra Burt.

Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Danielle Gray; parents, Dan Gray and Wadene Floyd; a brother, Mike (Rachel) Grey; two sisters, Deanie (Steve) Coker, Danette (Tracy) Tatum; a stepbrother, Ronnie (Sarah) Floyd; a stepsister, Sherri Sessions, and a step brother inlaw, Mark Burt.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Plainville Unity Baptist Church with the Rev. Dutch Scott and Rev. Clark Bench officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until the service hour on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Plainville Unity Baptist Church, Plainville, Georgia.

Patricia Diane “Pat” Redden Howard, age 52, of Cedartown, passed away Saturday April 14, 2018 in a local hospital.

Pat was born May 24, 1965, in Floyd County, a daughter of the late Leroy Redden, and Bertha Ely Redden. She was employed by Shaw Industries. She was preceded in death by brothers, Junior Ely and Bobby Ely, a step sister, Faye Roberts.

Survivors include her children, Tiffany Baker, Aragon; Charity Coffee, Aragon; brother, James Ely, Cedartown; sisters, Glenda (Lawrence) Hutchens, Cave Spring; Joan (Dewayne) Phillips, Cedartown; Betty (Danny) Edwards, Rome; Judy (Mark) Rosson, Rome; Nancy Redden, Rome; 7 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday April 19, 2018, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Burt Brooks, officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, in Forney, Al. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen, Derek Phillips, Devon Ely, Dewayne Waters, Joey Edwards, Ethan Martin, Scott Richey, Eric McJunkins and Brian Cox.
