Another National School Walkout day is planned for Friday, April 20, the anniversary of the massacre of Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999.
The national event, organized by teens, hopes to empower students to continue their momentum in a push for gun reforms.
Rome First United Methodist Church is again opening their doors as they did during the previous Walkout Day on March 14. Post from Rome First UMC: “To all students and teachers participating in the all day walkout on April 20th, our doors are open. We’re still a safe place, a study space, and a prayer space. Pizza is on us. Just bring your school ID. We’re still with you.”
