OUTLOOK

Weekend storms should pack 1.5 inches of rain, beginning with showers on Saturday afternoon, intensifying overnight and continuing through Sunday evening.

The next cold front is expected to begin affecting Northwest Georgia Sat afternoon. This frontal system will continue to sweep across the area through Sunday evening before exiting the coast Sunday night. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms can be expected Saturday afternoon through Sunday. The best time and location of any severe storms will be across western portions of the state Sat afternoon.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 51. South wind around 5 mph.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 80. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 60. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

Saturday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
