Buzz: Cartersville’s Hope Center hosting “Show for Hope” car show on Saturday. Floyd GOP Women meet Tuesday. Bartow hosting free scrap tire dropoff events.

Join The Hope Center Foundation for the first ever “Show for Hope”, a car show with proceeds benefiting Hope Center cancer patients, Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at The Hope Center in Cartersville.  In addition to several award categories for cars, trucks and jeeps, there will also be food, soft drinks, a DJ and fun for all. The Floyd County Republican Women meet Tuesday at Red Lobster. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. with the meeting beginning at noon. Guest speaker: Sen. David Shafer, a candidate for lieutenant governor. Other guests: Kay Ann Wetherington and Emily Matson, candidates for superior court judge.


The Adairsville Eggs and Issues on Thursday, April 5 will feature a meet and greet with new Cartersville Medical Center CEO Chris Mosley at NorthPoint Church Meeting Facility at 30 Orchard Rd in Adairsville. Coffee and conversation begins at 7 a.m., breakfast at 7:15 a.m. and program starts at 7:30 a.m. Register


Bartow County has received a grant from GA EPD for the Local Government Scrap Tire Abatement Reimbursement program, which covers the costs of removing, transporting, and processing scrap tires cleaned up from identified, state-listed scrap tire dumps; removed from city and county right-of-ways; and collected during scrap tire amnesty events. You can drop off scrap tires free of charge at the following events:

  • APRIL 19, 20 & 21 – ALLATOONA COLLECTION CENTER – 6507 GLADE ROAD, ACWORTH
