Business: Lots happening on North Broad with new Dollar General, auction of current location and listing for 13,000-foot-center between both.

North Broad Street hasn’t seen this much activity in a few years. From the building of a new Dollar General on one end to the auction of the current DG shopping center on the other and a 13,000-square-foot retail strip in the center, things are active on the four-lane. Consider:

Six retail spots under roof (13,000 square feet in all) are on the market for $99,000 at 1509 B. Broad St. The location is touted for potential retail or restaurant with parking behind it. The strip is between the old and new Dollar General stores. Kimberly Prusakowski of Hardy Realty has the listing. Top photo courtesy of Hardy Realty; second photo by Hometown.

The current Dollar General location and adjoining stores are up for auction March 22 by Dempsey Auction. The center at 1431 N. Broad St, includes 30,000 square feet under roof with 10 store fronts The auction is at 1 p.m. on site. For more: Contact Tom Lindsey at 770-546-2510 or 800-336-7739.
The big player in the neighborhood is the new Dollar General at 1605 N. Broad St. It will cover 7,300 square feet (800 more than the current store) once open later this spring. Amenities include double the cooler space, which will provide a wider selection of frozen and refrigerated food.
