Mrs. Nancy Kelley Smith, age 84, of Lindale, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Smith was born in Cedartown, Georgia on October 26, 1933, daughter of the late William Kelley and the late Troupie Camp Kelley. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Bolinger, Jewell Byrd and Evelyn Hines, and by five brothers, J.A., Edward, Rufus, Othel and Earl Kelley.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. Smith was the lunchroom manager at Pepperell High School for a number of years. After retirement, she worked at Sam’s Club for 12 years. She was a faithful member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church where she was active in David Bennett’s Sunday School Class, the XYZ Club and the W.M.U.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Smith, to whom she was married on November 27, 1959; two sons, Donn Smith and his wife, Gail, Lindale, and Eddie Smith and his wife, Jennifer, Rome; seven grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Morgan Smith, Bryson Smith, Amanda Godwin, Caleb Crider, Erin Fortney and Ryan Fortney; three sisters, Doris Hutchins, Rome, Betty Holcombe, Marietta, and Jackie Skinner, Powder Springs; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Park Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Doyle Kelley and Rev. Earl Fowlkes officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery in Cedartown.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Nephews and great nephews will serve as active and honorary pallbearers and are asked to assemble at the church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
