Pepperell girls over Coosa, 44-31. Next: vs. Chattooga, 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Boys — Coosa downs Gordon Central, 64-60; Coosa vs. Dade at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Model.

Girls: Darlington over Trion in the subregion tournament, 72-68.

The 7AA regional boys and girls basketball tournaments will be played at Model High School beginning Monday. Here are the early brackets and times courtesy of Kevin Strickland of Model High. Admission is $7 per person. Concession: Hot dogs, popcorn and pizza.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL

About the new coaches at Armuchee, Model high schools: The new head football coaches at both high schools will be hired at Tuesday’s Floyd County Board of Education meeting, 6 p.m. at the central office. From there, Model will hold a media briefing at 10:45 a.m. with a community meet-and-greet at 5:30 p.m. Armuchee’s media briefing is at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday with the community meeting starting at 4:30 p.m.
