Model High student treated, released from hospital after being struck while rushing to catch a missed bus.

This update from WRGA, citing Floyd County Police:

The 18-year old male had missed the school bus and was running in the middle of Norwood Street in order to catch it at the next stop. A vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction and the two collided. The teen was able to walk into the ambulance before being transported to the hospital. He was treated and released from the hospital. The vehicle sustained damage to the fender area and to the windshield. The incident occurred at around 6:45 a.m. No charges will be filed.

A Model area student is being checked for injuries today after being struck by a car while rushing to catch a missed bus. The student, a male, was able to walk into the ambulance following the incident. The student had no signs of injury, according to Floyd County Police. Floyd County Schools confirm he has been treated at the hospital and is either being released or will be shortly.
