Posh Upscale Consignment plans March 2 closing: Last spring, this note appeared on the Facebook page of Posh: “Posh is for sale! If the business is not purchased, then Posh will be closing on Aug. 31, 2017. All consignors will be notified by mail regarding details.” That decision changed and the eight-year-old shop at 412 Broad St. remained open. But now comes word of a definitive closing date, March 2, accompanied by this note:
“It is with great sadness that we are having to announce the closing of Post Consignment. Our last day will be Friday, March 2, 2018. All items and accounts will need to be picked up and cleared out by March 2. We want to thank all of our consignors and customers for eight wonderful years. We are going to miss each and every one of you.” You can read the expanded note by clicking Facebook.
A closer look: What what don’t like seeing is the third business to close in downtown Rome in recent weeks. It started with the announced shuttering of SkateLife Boarding Co. at 307 Broad St. just as the year ended. Next up was the surprise closing of Sellers Gourmet Eatery just up the street at 313/315 Broad St. on Sunday. Now add Posh to the list.
On the flip side: Look for the opening of Jerusalem Express, from the brothers who brought you Jerusalem Grill, later this month as well as Rome City Brewing Co’s new brewery and tasting room at 333 Broad St.
