Buzz: Newly elected Rome City Commissioners to be sworn in Monday. Busy week for Rome, Floyd County Commissions and Rome City Schools Board meetings.

Monday: The Rome City Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. Newly elected Commissioner Randy Quick and re-elected Commissioners Wendy Davis and Jamie Doss will be sworn into office for new terms. A new Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem will be elected during the meeting as well. Agenda

Tuesday: The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will meet in the Community Room, Suite 206, on the second floor of the Floyd County Administration Building, 12 East 4th Ave. Caucus will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Commissioners Caucus Room, Suite 204, followed by the Board Meeting at 4:00 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. Tuesday: Rome City Schools Board of Education will meet at 5:45 p.m. at the Board Office, 508 East Second St. Agenda

Jan. 11: The Rome Chapter of NARFE (National Association of Active and Retired Federal Civil Service Employees) will have their monthly meeting at the Landmark Restaurant on Martha Berry Highway in Rome, GA on Thursday, January 11, starting at 11:15 a.m. and lasting until about 1:00 p.m. The guest speaker at this month meeting will be Hometown Headlines’ John Druckenmiller. The monthly luncheon meeting are open to all current and retired Federal civil service employees in Northwest Georgia.
