Mr. Hudon Miller, age 77, of Armuchee, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018, in a local hospital.
Mr. Miller was born in the Everett Springs Community on January 10, 1940, son of the late Leon and Bethy Everett Miller. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Miller Barnett, and by two brothers, Frank and Travis Miller. Mr. Miller was a 1958 graduate of Armuchee High School and served in the U. S. Army Reserves.
Prior to his retirement, he, with his brothers, co-owned and operated S. L. Miller and Sons Lumber Co. in Armuchee for many years. He was a member of Everett Springs Baptist Church where he sang in the Church Choir and was active in the Men’s Brotherhood. Mr. Miller was a member of Floyd Springs Lodge #167 F. & A. M. for over 50 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and cattle farmer.
Survivors include his wife, the former Rebecca “Becky” Adams, to whom he was married on July 14, 1963; a daughter, Julie Miller Stewart, and her husband, Patrick, Atlanta; a son, Mark Miller, and his wife, Jill, Armuchee; 4 grandchildren, Will and Wyatt Miller, both of Armuchee, and Ian and Eva Stewart, both of Atlanta; a sister, Beverly Miller Burke, and her husband, Baxter, Calhoun; 2 brothers, Gail Miller, and Tim Miller, and his wife, Ann, both of Armuchee; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Everett Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Skelton officiating. Interment will follow in Everett Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Everett Springs Baptist Church on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and include: Larry Hansard, Don Chambers, Roy Webb, Ken Dunagan, Charles Miller and Cecil Burk.

Mr. William Rex Williams II, age 53, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Williams was born on October 5 1964, in Rome, Ga., son of the late William Rex Williams and the late Wanda Faye Priest Williams. He graduated from Armuchee High School and acquired his Associate Degree from the Columbia College of Broadcasting. Rex was passionate about music and was a DJ for several stations, the last being South 107.
Among his other passions were collecting baseball cards, telling a good story and eating good food. He loved Brunswick Stew and going to dinner with his niece at Bella Roma. Rex loved football and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a member of Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Stephen Darrell Williams, Rome, and James Anthony Williams, Rome; two nieces, Cidney Williams Powers (Tanner), Rome, and Lindsey Faye Williams (Justin Bell); his stepmother, Carolyn S. Williams, Rome.
Graveside and interment services will be held in Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Mac McCurry officiating.
The family will receive friends at Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church on Saturday from 1 until 2:45 p.m.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church by 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and include: Luke Holcomb, Michael Pegg, Mark Poole, Tommy Ezell, Jimbo Cox, Doyal Cagle, Robert Cummings and Denny Cummings.

James Harold Fowler Jr., 61, of Maylene, Alabama, passed away Tuesday January 2, 2018 in Shelby Medical Center, in Alabaster, Ala.
James was born March 25, 1956, in Jefferson County, Alabama, a son of the late James H Fowler, and Alice Joyce Hodnett Fowler. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Carol Belk.
Survivors include his wife, Cindi Dunivant Fowler, son, Matthew Broach, Pelham, Al; daughters, Emily Madden, Rome; Amanda Gonzalez, Eagle, Co; sisters, Exie Vinson, Birmingham, Al; Joyce Fowler, Jasper, Al; 5 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday January 6, 2018, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Wilkins Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour.
