Mrs. Charlotte Dean Parr, age 78, of Rome, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Parr was born in Chattooga County, GA on October 8, 1939, daughter of the late Ernest Price and the late Irene Greene Price. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Carl Parr, and by a brother, Kenneth Price. Mrs. Parr was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include 5 daughters, Debbie Reed, and her husband, Larry, Rome, Lori Watson, San Antonio, TX, Pam Cooper, Lindale, Jennifer Eastman, Silver Creek, and Carmen Matney, and her husband, Michael, Trion; 3 sons, Michael Carter, and his wife, Shirley, Summerville, James Carter, Rome, and Jody Parr, Rome; a sister, Margaret Garlin, Adairsville; 3 brothers, Euwell Price, Lyerly, Bill Price, Summerville, and Rev. Benny Price, Subligna; a special friend, Becky Jones, Rome; 17 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson &Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with her brother, the Rev. Benny Price officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday from 12 noon until the funeral hour. At other times, they may be contacted at their respective homes.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday at 1:30pm.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.

Mr. Robert Monroe Holbert, age 82 of Kingston, passed away Friday December 29, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mr. Holbert was born June 8, 1935, in Floyd County, a son of the late John Henry Holbert and Hattie Christine Price Holbert. He was retired from American Freight, and was employed for many years by Bartow County School System as bus driver. Mr. Holbert was a member of Kingston Masonic Lodge #394 F&AM in Kingston, Ga. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Henry Holbert, sisters, Evelyn Mildred Holbert Green, Ora Eugenia “Jean” Holbert Hardin.

Survivors include son, Robert (Lorrie) Day, Henegar, Al; daughter, Robbie Jo Haney, Summerville; brother, John Daniel (Martha) Holbert, Calhoun; sisters, Mary Sue Holbert Ford, Plainville; Barbara Holbert Penson, Rome; Joan Holbert Overby, Dalton; grandchildren, Tyler Day, Levi Haney, Heath Haney, and stoney Haney, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday January 2, 2018, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Peeler, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday January 1, 2018 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165

Miss Ariana Ransom, of Cartersville, Georgia, went to her heavenly home on Friday, December 29, 2017, at age 2 surrounded by her loving family.

Services are incomplete and will be announced at a later date. Wright Memorial Mortuary Inc. has full charge of the arrangements.
